![]() ![]() “When looking to expand our operations,” explains Chibante, “I decided to build a new company here in Wapakoneta, Ohio, for several reasons. It was set up as a sister company of Golden Acre Farms near Kingsville, Ontario, Canada. The history of Golden Fresh Farms, managed by Luis Chibante (president) and Paul Mastronardi (vice president), began around four years ago. In Greenhouses spoke to Luis Chibante, president and CEO of the company, to learn more about the company’s activities and high-quality, innovative approach. Just dont expect much.Golden Fresh Farms, based in Wapakoneta, Ohio, USA, is a high-tech tomato producer selling to leading grocery retailers in North America. But its what youd expect from any large workplace. Other than the small little details i noticed, the job is easy and work environment is fine but could be better. The company itself is very modern, like an Amazon store of produce. Try to get direct hire dont get hired from another party too many hidden details. The workers hired from Mexico were so nice and humble very hard working people always willing to give a helping hand or teach you. I dont understand why a company that needs so many people to run it would be so quick to let people go but then again they have maintain a proffesional business. The point system for missing a day or getting in trouble was kinda confusing, you can only get 3 points before youre fired. Break/lunch were 30 mins but by the time youd walk in from a greenhouse youd lose 5 minutes then be expected to be walking back 5 minutes before bell rings. Some supervisors were good people and some not so much, some would give you an attitude when youd ask for PPE. Work was easy thou gh just not enough hours in the greenhouses at least. ![]() The hours in the greenhouses were alright if you want to work average hours, but many of us coming from far away we were expecting minimum 11 hours+ a day if not we wouldve stayed at our home states and worked regular hours there. It perfectly describes this place, one person tells you to do one thing & the other another thing. “Welcome to Sunset, were nobody is on the same track” -What one supervisor told me on my first day. ![]()
